Street / Bar Outreach

The best place to reach people is where they are at- meaning during the course of the day or night; on the street or at the bar; at the café or the bookstore. HARC staff conducts outreach in a variety of locations to come into contact with people during real life situations where they may soon be putting themselves at risk. Having condoms and a person to talk to at the bar may turn an unexpected sexual encounter into a safer one.

Outreach References

HARC's outreach van is staffed by trained outreach educators who can provide HIV/AIDS risk reduction education, safer sex materials, harm reduction services, HIV counseling and testing, and referrals other needed services and resources.
