LGBT Community

HARC makes a point of offering HIV information, risk reduction education, and safer sex materials to people in social settings. Having condoms and a person to talk to at the bar or in a club may turn an unexpected sexual encounter into a safer one. Look for HARC staff or volunteers at the Necto on Friday nights, the \aut\ Bar on Sunday evenings, and online in Ann Arbor chat rooms.

In addition to general outreach, HARC also runs a peer education program for young gay and bi men and offers individual counseling to folks who might have questions about what they can do to reduce their risk for HIV.

HARC also offers HIV testing at the Washtenaw Rainbow Action Project (WRAP) community center twice each week and the University of Michigan Office of LGBT Affairs during the academic session (September through April).
