About Us

Jimena Loveluck
Executive Director

HIV/AIDS Resource Center (HARC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1986 by a group of volunteers to provide HIV/AIDS related services to the people of Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, and Washtenaw Counties. HARC's success in responding to the HIV/AIDS community is in its ability to be innovative in the services it provides to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of the changing epidemic and those it affects. HARC is dedicated to providing HIV/AIDS related services to our community through compassionate direct care, prevention and outreach activities.

HARC is the only agency of its kind in its four county region and is dedicated to providing services to people living with HIV/AIDS. HARC also acts as a clearinghouse of HIV/AIDS related information, education and outreach to this four county region. Recognized and rewarded by local state and national groups, HARC's Outreach Team continues to provide innovative, effective programs that help decrease HIV transmission.

HARC's Care Team provides case management and advocacy services for people who have HIV/AIDS. More importantly, HARC's Care Team offers a caring hand and compassionate care to ensure that people living with HIV/AIDS to maintain control over their lives. Case management services help link clients to medical care, support groups, nutrition services, housing assistance, mental health services, food pantry, transportation, and emergency financial assistance for clients in need.

The past decade has seen HARC develop into a leading HIV/AIDS service provider in our state. The AIDS epidemic has changed dramatically since it first struck in the early 1980's. HIV/AIDS is not selective in its infection, but thanks to the breakthroughs in medication, infected individuals are living full lives for many years. There is still no cure, however, and HIV/AIDS is a complex disease and requires expensive and intense treatment. Thus the need for access to HIV/AIDS services and prevention has never been greater. HARC is here to provide compassionate care to those infected and affected by this epidemic. Please take a few moments to see how we might help you, or even more importantly how you might help yourself, your partners, your family, your neighbors and all the others you care about.
